WHY IS THIS SHOP INTERESTING TO VIEW?

After several incarnations, the Greek Temple-like building was recently restored by Dover Street Market New York.

In this stylish, seven-story souk every detail is unorthodox, architects and avant-garde artists transformed the building into discrete spaces, environments carefully attuned to the rotating roster of high-end designers.

The interior of the building is imbued with a design vision and sensibilities that span fashion and interior design. In order to transform seven disparate floors into one cohesive entity, a clear glass elevator was created that pierces the middle of each floor.

The merchandise selection is the pairing of well known established brands such as Saint Laurent, Acne with more lesser known designers on the come up such as Gosha Rubchinski.

Everything is spread out in an atmosphere of beautiful chaos that combines the lifestyle concept of a massively modern-thinking and focused department store with the stiffness of a museum exhibit, tempered by a playful interior architectural aesthetic.

In addition to clothing kiosks, the store includes the café Rose Bakery on the ground floor.
