The design of Beymen fuses Fashion, Art, and Architecture into an inspirational Fashion Luxury Destination.
The environment demonstrates stunning architecture and an elegant interior design that is accented with iconic furniture. Ceiling elements following the building’s structural grid provide orientation, while geometrical patterns reflect specific areas of the store. Traditional Turkish patterns combined with sculptural elements from Venetian plaster provide a modern interpretation of traditional arches. Flooring patterns were designed to frame categories, while columns appear to float from the ceiling. A monumental staircase creates impact and connects customers to two floors, with a bookshop and comfortable seating located midway between to invite lingering. Elegant yet warm furnishings, fixtures and visuals create a luxurious ambiance, with art pieces scattered throughout to provide an element of surprise.
To balance navigation and flow between the mall and the store, several “tunnel stores” from brands such as Céline, Chloé and Bottega Veneta have been designed, which have their own doors leading from the mall into the Beymen space. Elsewhere in the store it was all about building in a sense of luxury and service to each department. Both the men’s and women’s areas, for example, offer VIP fitting rooms. To enhance the space and to add imposing landmark transition areas between floors, the business has invested in works from local artists and furniture designers. In all there are six in-store zones showing custom-made art pieces and the commitment to local artists will also be ongoing for Beymen Istanbul, which plans to hold regular art events and talks.
